It takes more than talent to have a long career in Hollywood, and our beloved stars of past and present have turned to many a lucrative endorsement deal to pump up their incomes and their images. Selling everything from fur coats to furniture to face cream, many of these ads have shaped our popular culture and influenced trends for decades.

Foster Grant 1966

Foster Grant did a series of print ads in the 60s featuring ingeneues of the  big and small screen. Blonde bombshell, Elke Sommer, shows off the many sides of her sunglasses personality. Looks like Elke is an bombshell Eskimo spy whose conspicuous cover is a hippie jockey with just a touch of glamour. A lot of context in this one page ad! ha.

Lucky Strike Cigarettes - 1940s

Marlene Dietrich reclines with a refreshing Lucky Strike cigarette in this 1940s advertisement. Ad reads:

Scientific tests prove Lucky Strike milder than any other principal brand! These scientific tests, confirmed by independent consulting laboratory, prove Lucky Strike mildest of 6 major brands tested!
Marlene Dietrich says: "I smoke a smooth cigarette— Lucky Strike!"
Let your own taste and throat be the judge! For the rich taste of fine tobacco - for smoothness and mildness ... THERE'S NEVER A ROUGH PUFF IN A LUCKY!

Always vampy, Marlene strikes a pose with her ciggy holder and elbow length gloves. Nothing but the smoothest and most glamorous will do for Ms. Marlene, dahling.
